The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that it awarded $75 million to local areas to help public housing and Housing Choice Voucher residents on a path to self-sufficiency and homeownership through education and employment. The State of Florida will share $3,314,986, Tallahassee was awarded over $51,000 to help residents through HUD’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS). While enrolled in the program, participants receive escrow accounts that can be used as down payments on a home purchase.
